Urgent eye problems
Sudden loss of vision, new flashes of light, a sudden shower of black dots, a shadow moving into your field of vision, or severe eye pain: go to an eye emergency department immediately, or call the ambulance on 144 outside our opening hours. Do not wait for an appointment or an email reply. Addresses are further down this page.
Booking an appointment
Online booking is the fastest way. You see the available times, get immediate confirmation and can reschedule or cancel at any time. The system is in German, so here are the appointment types:
- Jahreskontrolle — annual check-up
- Augendruck — eye pressure check for known findings
- MUKI — Eltern-Kind-Pass examination for children
- Kindertermin — any other appointment for a child
- Privattermin — private appointment
If you would rather not use the German system, email us in English at anmeldung@schild-burggasser.at with a short description and we will arrange a suitable appointment.
Cancellations
Please cancel at least 24 hours before the appointment. Later cancellations are charged a fee of 50 euros. Cancelling online takes a minute and can be done at any time.
Phone and email
The phone is only answered at the beginning and end of each session, because during consultations we are with patients. Email is more reliable and we always reply.

Getting here
Public transport: 7 minutes on foot from U6 Siebenhirten, 7 minutes from the Badner Bahn stop Vösendorf-Siebenhirten, 1 minute from the bus stop Nowakgasse on line 266H.
By car: street parking is available nearby. Note that if your pupils are dilated during the examination, you will not be able to drive for several hours afterwards.
